A Special PGA Merchandise Show for SCNS Sports Foods

This year’s 2017 PGA Merchandise Show was especially thrilling for SCNS Sports Foods.

The show gives us the opportunity for face-time with clients; we see the majority of them  just once a year. The SCNS sales team took several season-opening orders and we even picked-up some new accounts!

SCNS had two BIG things to launch at the show – well, actually five:
SCNS’ four new Plus+ bars and our partnership with PGA Tour professional Scott Langley.

Back in December 2016, SCNS Sports Foods rolled-out our new 1st Tee Plus+ and 10th Tee Plus+ Bars. The new “Plus+” bars replaced our original four 1st Tee and 10th Tee Golf Energy Bars, which have been on the market since 2001. We removed high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and artificial flavors from the four original bars. While delivering a cleaner bar is great news, understandably, our customers were concerned about taste. So, you can imagine our interest in getting feedback at the PGA Merchandise Show.

We are happy to report the reception was quite favorable regarding texture, flavor and overall taste of the new bars! Also, feedback was highly positive on the removal of HFCS and any artificial flavors.

ScottLangleyBag1stTeeLogoPhotoRecently, it was announced SCNS Sports Foods had signed as a sponsor of PGA Tour professional Scott Langley. We proudly talked about the partnership at the PGA Merchandise Show. On Thursday, Scott was on hand at our booth to meet and greet visitors, pose for pictures, sign autographs and tell folks how much he truly relies on our 1st Tee and 10th Tee Plus+ bars for calm and energy while he golfs.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Langley’s PGA Tour bag carries the company’s 1st Tee nutrition bar logo. Speaking of his tour bag – we raffled off a signed Scott Langley golf bag at the SCNS booth.  The business card randomly picked from the bin belonged to Ashley Cottrell, Director of Tournament Sales at Hermitage Golf Course. Ashley was notified via email; she was surprised and excited!

At the conclusion of the show, SCNS COO Bill Stewart reflected, “Golfers and golf courses continue to seek what is new/better as well as a performance “edge”. Our bars fit well into both of these categories.” Bill continued, “Also, golf courses are trying to add healthier alternatives to their food and snacks line-up.”
